you can also win $10k if you get selected to name their e-bike
E-Bikes have dominated the cycling industry with companies releasing their own model in form or another. Although we’ve seen eBikes from the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari before, no-one would’ve thought General Motors would be one of the early adopters of the e-bike.
Revealed earlier this month, General Motors plan to release 2 electric bikes. They will be very similar in design, but one will be foldable. Featuring their own in-house designed motor, the bike takes design cues from other foldable ebike designs we’ve seen before, but with an added design flare to it. The battery is mounted in an interesting way that finds itself tucked away under the tube with the motor. It looks like it sports an internal gear hub as well, along with front and rear disc brakes, and lights; making it prepared for commuting.
General Motors haven’t named the eBikes yet, but have presented us with a $10k winning for someone who can come up with a name for them. For more information and to enter the competition, follow this link.
It’ll be interesting to see where they plan to go with this and if they’ll release other models; but this is a sign of the future. No official word on Australian release or exact release date. Stay tuned for more details.
